We recently ran a poll on Facebook to see what’s Australia’s favourite beer. We had a tremendous response! As it turns out, Aussies love their beer…BIG SHOCK! Here are the results. Cheers!🍻🍻🍻

Corona

1st Corona

WOW! We were shocked when this beer kept on powering on in the poll!

This Mexican flavour, topped with a slice of lemon or lime, probably reminded people of summer – where they wish they were.

Coopers Pale Ale

2nd Cooper Pale

You can’t knock this legend! It’s truly a way of life for most true blue Aussies.

With their trademark sediment that gives the beer a cloudy appearance, turns out doesn’t cloud people’s judgement.

Great Northern

3rd Great Northern

This beer didn’t start out well in the poll, but as soon as Queensland started speaking, it started booming!

I gotta say, I will be grabbing a carton soon!

Victoria Bitter

4th Victoria Bitter

Ye old faithful! Defiantly a Victorian favourite.

Definitely a lot of passion for this beer. For a hard-earned thirst, I guess!

It was a steady performer in the poll. It was always there.

Coopers Sparkling

5th Coopers Sparkling

With 5.8% Alcohol, it stole Australia’s hearts with 5.9% of their votes.

West End Draught

6th West End Draught

South Australians really got behind this one. Excuse me. I just vomited everywhere.

Carlton Dry

7th Carlton Dry

Carlton Dry is another beer that was always cruising above average in the poll. Unlike their AFL team.

Hahn Super Dry

8th Hahn Super Dry

I actually thought this one would perform better. I like the old bottle like this one. Those new green bottles look strange.

Little Creatures

9th Little Creatures Pale

Nothing little about this beer. Started back in 2000 and now brews 80 kegs an hour!

A Western Australian favourite

Furphy

10th Furphy

One of my favourites ATM! A true newcomer and growing in popularity. Produced by Little Creatures Brewing in Geelong and launched in 2014. Respect!

Tooheys Extra Dry

11th Tooheys Extra Dry

This is where I thought TEDs would be. Not showing off, and not falling behind. A solid 3% of votes. I’d like to cuddle a TED tonight.

XXXX Gold

12th XXXX Gold

The top mid-strength award goes to… XXXX Gold!

The pride of Queensland again and again.

Carlton Draught

13th Carton Draught

On tap everywhere to get “off tap”.

James Boag's

14th James Boag’s Premium

Tasmanian from 1994 to present.  All of the company’s beers are produced in Launceston. James Boag and son was founded in 1883

Tooheys Old

15th Tooheys Old

Bottled since 1970 it really is old… Tooheys old.

Heineken

16th Heineken

Dutch brewing company Heineken makes a good drop and a funny commercial.

Pure Blonde

17th Pure Blonde

I personally thought this beer would be higher in the poll.

Q. Why did the Pure Blonde tip toe past the medicine cabinet?

A. It didn’t want to wake the sleeping pills.

Peroni

18th Peroni

Another international drop here. Probably the oldest too. Founded in Italy in 1846

Balter

19th Balter XPA

Well well well. We didn’t even include this beer in the poll! Thank you for voting in the “other” section. I really enjoy a surprise!

Looks like this craft beer has risen in popularity since 2016 and won the best pale ale at the Australian international beer awards in 2017. I’ll cheers to that!

Iron Jack

20th Iron Jack

From the oldest… to the newest. Launched in 2017 already available everywhere!

XXXX Bitter

21st XXXX Bitter

Old school here. I can see myself driving up to an old woodgrain outback pub, in an old rusty kingswood, wearing an old flanny, with old footy shorts, walking past grumpy old men, with old cigarette smoke, and saying give us a beer you old!

Coopers Dark

22nd Coopers Dark

The best dark ale award goes to Coopers Dark! Hope you like the taste of chocolate malts.

Crown Lager

23rd Crown Lager

Originally brewed in 1919 from their former name “Fosters Crown Lager”. For that premium night on the town. Goes well with a suit and tie.

Asahi

24th Asahi

This Tokyo-based company certainly knows how to make a good beer.

Stone and Wood

25th Stone & Wood Pacific Ale

Another craft beer made it on the poll! Established in 2008 in Byron Bay. Cloudy and golden with a fruity aroma… apparently.

Melbourne Bitter

26th Melbourne Bitter

Can’t fault this drinkipoo, although it didn’t perform well with 0.8% of the votes. Best in the can.

Tooheys New

27th Tooheys New

Tooheys New hey…. can’t say much about this one. Boooring.

Coopers Session Ale

28th Coopers Session

Ah yes. Love a good session.

Stella Artois

29th Stella Artois

Wouldn’t mind if this beer gave my lips a paper cut. But apparently, Australia does.

Hahn Ultra Crisp

30th Hahn Ultra Crisp

Probably the newest beer here! Let’s give it some time before we take it seriously.

Chancer Golden Ale

31st James Squires Golden Ale

The Malt Shovel Brewery. 0.5% of votes. Not sure what happened there.

Fosters

32nd Fosters

For all those tourists, this shows how much we actually drink this stuff. It’s a good beer, but more a reminder of home when we’re away from home.
